Privacy policy
Toon Valley is a free fan game run by volunteers. We keep as little about you as we can, we never sell it, and we don't show ads. This page says what we keep and why.
Who can play
You need to be 13 or older to make a Toon Valley account. If you're younger, please don't sign up. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 13, we'll close it and remove its email address.
What we keep
- Your account: your username, your email address, whether you've confirmed it, and the date you signed up.
- Alpha access: whether your account can play, and how it got in (a key, or an invite). If you join the Alpha list, when you joined and anything you wrote in the box, so our team can pick testers.
- Your password, scrambled (hashed) so that nobody, including us, can read it.
- Your Toons and their progress, on the game server.
- Logs: the game server keeps logs to fix bugs and to stop cheating and abuse. They can include what happened in the game, including chat.
- Your internet address, only for a short while, to stop people guessing passwords. Our hosting companies also keep ordinary access logs.
The website uses no cookies, ads or trackers. While you're logged in, your browser remembers it until you close the tab.
What we use your email for
Only for your account: confirming your address, resetting your password, telling you when you're in the Alpha, and telling you about important changes to your account, such as a new password. We don't send newsletters or advertising, and nobody else in the game can see your email address.
Who helps us run Toon Valley
These companies store or handle some of this information for us, only to run the game:
- MongoDB Atlas stores accounts.
- Render runs the login server.
- Cloudflare runs this website and the game downloads, and the robot check on the sign-up page.
- Resend sends our emails.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account on your account page. Your password and email address are removed straight away, and nobody can log in to the account or play its Toons again. We keep the username so nobody else can take it. To have your Toons erased from the game server as well, email us.
Questions
Email support@toonvalley.net to ask what we keep about you, to have it corrected or erased, or with any other question about this page. If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and we'll email you if the change matters for your account.
